Crop PDF

Crop PDF trims the margins off every page, tightening a document with too much whitespace or removing headers and footers. It sets the page's crop box rather than rasterising, so the text stays sharp and selectable. Everything runs in your browser with nothing uploaded.

What cropping a PDF really does

Hides, rather than deletes

A PDF crop sets a new visible box on the page. The content outside it stops being displayed and stops being printed — but in most readers it is still present in the file.

Which matters for redaction

Never crop to hide sensitive information. Anyone can restore the original box in a PDF editor. Cropping is a layout tool, not a security one.

The usual reasons

  • Scanner margins

A scan that captured the platen edge or a dark border. Cropping tightens it to the page.

  • Reading on a tablet

Trimming wide print margins makes the text noticeably larger on a small screen without changing the type size.

  • Slides to handouts

Removing the fixed furniture around a slide so the content sits flush.

What you remove does not come back

Gone

The visible page box changes for every reader that respects it, and printing follows the crop. Since the underlying content may remain, treat this as presentation rather than removal.

Keep the original

Export to a new file and keep the source. Every tool here works from the file you drop in and writes a fresh one, so the original on your device is untouched — but only if you do not overwrite it yourself afterwards.

Your file, and what the page does

Your file is never uploaded. Crop PDF reads it into this browser tab and processes it with pdf-lib on your own device. There is no upload endpoint in the application and no copy on any server — closing the tab discards it.

What the page does send or fetch

Ads on the page
The site is funded by advertising, so the page loads Google AdSense. That carries the usual web basics — IP address, browser, referring page — as on any ad-supported site.
An anonymous usage counter
When Crop PDF finishes we record that the tool ran, whether it succeeded and how long it took. No file data, no identifier, no cookie.

Your file is not on that list. How this works.
