Frequently asked questions

No. Every PDF tool runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your file is read into memory on your own device and never leaves it — the only network call is an anonymous usage counter.

Yes. Because processing happens on your device, there's no server cost, so the core tools are free. A Premium plan adds larger files, batch jobs and a server-side fallback for very large or complex documents.

On the free tier the limit is around 100MB, chosen to stay within safe browser-memory limits. Larger files route to the Premium server-fallback path.

Client-side compression downsamples embedded images. Text-only PDFs have little to compress, and it can't match a server-side Ghostscript pass — that's available on Premium for maximum reduction.

No account is needed for single-file jobs. Signing up (free) adds job history and removes the watermark on basic tools.
