What rounding corners produces
The corners are made transparent rather than white, so the image sits correctly on any background. That requires PNG or WebP — export as JPG and the corners turn solid white.
The radius is baked into the pixels. If the image is displayed at a different size, the corner radius scales with it, which may not match the rest of your interface.
Choosing a radius
- Subtle4–8 px
Softens the edge without being noticeable. Suits screenshots inside documents.
- Card-like12–24 px
Reads clearly as a rounded card. The common choice for app screenshots and thumbnails.
- Pill or circle50%
At half the shorter side the shape becomes fully round. For avatars, Circle Crop is the more direct tool.
Signs it is wrong
The corners are white, not clear — It was exported as JPG. Re-export as PNG or WebP.
Content is being clipped — A large radius eats into the corners of the picture. Add margin before rounding if something important lives there.
It does not match the page — If the image sits inside a rounded container already, doing it twice reads as a mistake.
This is baked into the export
The clipped corners are removed from the exported file.
Keep the square version — a different radius later means starting again from it.

Your file, and what the page does
Your file is never uploaded. Round Corners reads it into this browser tab and processes it with your browser's own Canvas engine on your own device. There is no upload endpoint in the application and no copy on any server — closing the tab discards it.
Because the result is rebuilt from pixels, the source file's EXIF metadata does not survive into it. Camera model, timestamp and any GPS coordinates recorded by your phone are simply not present in the output — a side effect of how canvas encoding works, and a useful one before posting a photo publicly.
What the page does send or fetch

- The site is funded by advertising, so the page loads Google AdSense. That carries the usual web basics — IP address, browser, referring page — as on any ad-supported site.
- An anonymous usage counter
- When Round Corners finishes we record that the tool ran, whether it succeeded and how long it took. No file data, no identifier, no cookie.
