Meme Generator
Meme Generator adds the classic top-and-bottom caption style to any photo — bold white Impact-style text with a heavy black outline, in uppercase, exactly like the memes everyone shares. Type your top and bottom lines, see them live on the image, and download your meme. It's all processed in your browser.

What you are adding
Heavy white type with a black outline, top and bottom. The convention exists because it stays readable over any image, at any size, on any background.
The text becomes part of the image. That is what makes a meme survive being screenshotted, re-saved and re-shared without falling apart.
What makes one work
- Short
Two lines that can be read in the time it takes to scroll past. Long captions get skipped.
- Legible small
Most people will see it at phone size in a feed. If it needs zooming, it does not work.
- Readable over the image
The outline exists precisely so the text survives a busy background. Do not remove it for style.
Before you publish it
Most meme templates are copyrighted — Widely shared does not mean public domain. Commercial use of a film still or a stock photo is a real risk.
Photographs of real people — Using an identifiable person as the butt of a joke carries obvious risk, whatever the copyright position.
It will outlive the moment — Anything published is archived and screenshotted. Assume it is permanent.

Your file, and what the page does
Your file is never uploaded. Meme Generator reads it into this browser tab and processes it with your browser's own Canvas engine on your own device. There is no upload endpoint in the application and no copy on any server — closing the tab discards it.
Because the result is rebuilt from pixels, the source file's EXIF metadata does not survive into it. Camera model, timestamp and any GPS coordinates recorded by your phone are simply not present in the output — a side effect of how canvas encoding works, and a useful one before posting a photo publicly.
What the page does send or fetch
- Ads on the page
- The site is funded by advertising, so the page loads Google AdSense. That carries the usual web basics — IP address, browser, referring page — as on any ad-supported site.
- An anonymous usage counter
- When Meme Generator finishes we record that the tool ran, whether it succeeded and how long it took. No file data, no identifier, no cookie.
Your file is not on that list. How this works.
