How to merge PDF files for free (without uploading them)

Combine invoices, scans or chapters into one PDF in the order you want — securely, in your browser, with no watermark.

Merging PDFs is one of the most common document tasks — combining receipts for an expense report, joining scanned pages, or stitching a proposal together. Most free tools upload your documents to a server, which is a problem if they contain anything sensitive. Here's how to do it entirely on your own device.

Merge PDFs in three steps

Step 1

Add your files

Open the Merge PDF tool and drop in two or more PDFs. Each shows its page count.

Step 2

Put them in order

Use the up/down controls to arrange the files the way they should appear.

Step 3

Merge and download

Export to combine everything into one PDF — no watermark, no sign-up.

Related tasks

  • Need the opposite? Split PDF breaks one file into separate documents.
  • Pages in the wrong order? Reorder Pages lets you drag them into place.
  • Got extra pages to drop? Delete Pages removes them before you merge.

A note on privacy

Because the merge happens in your browser with pdf-lib, your documents are never transmitted to us. That matters for contracts, IDs, medical forms and anything else you'd rather not upload to an unknown server.

Encrypted or password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first — standard files merge instantly.
